Producers Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry have reportedly instructed Lionsgate to put their promotional machine behind fellow stars Mariah Carey and Gabby Sidibe for the Oscar race. Those two are adept at playing the game; both turned up in New York and Toronto to push the film for free opposite of Mo'Nique (she requested $100,000 appearance fee).

MC revealed she's going to record Christmas song with her mom Patricia - she was accredited opera singer. MC is going to sing in her style and Pat is going to sing operatic, which is her style. MC also said: "You know, I didn't want to do a Christmas album. It was Tommy's idea. And I was all, 'Please I'm a young girl. People don't do Christmas albums until they are, like, 50. Some sort of last resort.' But he insisted. 'No, no. Do it. It'll be a big hit. So I did and it was, and I'll always be grateful for that."

MC should appear in the Wrigley commercial. MC and other artists like Jay-Z and Chris Brown - he was fired after the Rihanna incident - shot the commercial for this gum company. Wrigley launched a law suit against Chris because the commercial and ad photos were mostly as a group, so there is no certainty that we'll see MC in the commercial.

Obsessed climbed up back to TOP TEN on #14 after last week's fall eighteen positions down on #29. Last week's debut I Want To Know What Love Is (still written as I Know What You Want with Busta in the official chart) dropped eleven positions down to #81. The Memois of an Imperfect Angel album debuted on #32 thanks to you :). Plese keep calling to radios and request both singles.

MC shot the commercial for AT&T in September and it also promote Memoirs.

Last night at the mini concert at the PC Richard & Son Theater in Tribeca, Mariah performed "Obsessed", "Always Be My Baby", "IWTKWLI", "H.A.T.E. U", and "We Belong Together". Mariah confirmed H.A.T.E.U will be the next single and the remix is one of her faves ever. It seems the single will be released soon.

Tricky Stewart and Trey Songz spill details exclusively to Rap-Up.com on Carey’s top-secret remix album. Details are slowly emerging about the project, which will include remixes to every song on Memoirs. "There’s gonna be remixes to everything," says Tricky. "I’m actually doing some remixing myself currently ’cause some of these records were so much fun to make. It’s easy to go in and do a remix." The mega-producer already has something in mind for the diva’s Foreigner cover. "I’m gonna do a remix to ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ myself. I’mma raise the tempo up. I’mma try to make it into something else." He may even add a guest to it. "Once I get the beat and if it calls for the right person, I can get anybody on the phone I want to right now, so I will be using my Rolodex for that." One of the featured artists on the new project will be Trey Songz, who exclusively discloses to Rap-Up.com that he recorded a remix to one of Memoirs’ cuts last month. "Mariah Carey, I believe she’s doing a remix album and I’m on a record entitled ‘Inseparable,’" he shares. Trey put everything aside once he got the call. "I actually only had a day to do it. I did it on my day off. [They were] very professional, very adamant on wanting to get it done. They made sure we had all we needed. I just went in and got it done."

The Emotions album celebrates the 14th anniversary today. The Daydream album released October 3, 1995 confirmed success of MC and popularity of her recordings. First single Fantasy (co-operation with Dave Hall) registered huge success in the US and started Mariahmania there. This album became number one in holiday season. Single Fantasy debuted on #1 and had been reigned the chart for eight weeks (ninth #1). Second single One Sweet Day debuted also as #1 one week later (tenth #1) and hold the position for record-breaking sixteen weeks (the third single debuted on #1 is Honey). She co-operated with Walter Afanasieff for this album again (Underneath The Stars, One Sweet Day, Looking In, Forever, I Am Free, When I Saw You) and this was the first time she invited Jermaine Dupri (Always Be My Baby, Long Ago and ABMB remix). David Morales prepared great remixes for Fantasy and Always Be My Baby and Mariah re-sing them to dance versions. MC also invited Da Brat for the first time (ABMB remix). Fantasy remix with ODB became one of the greatest remixes of Mariah. Fourth single of the album - Always Be My Baby became her eleventh #1. The album received Diamond Award in the US.

The pre-shooted show The View was aired today in the US. MC speaks about Nick, the new album, the Forever perfume and the Precious movie here. The spectators of the shooting got the new CD and the perfume as a gift. MC performed live I Want To Know What Love Is at the end of the show. The single is on #14 (last week #12) on Hot Digital Songs with 66,756 sales (4% decrease); total sales 876,110. The CD sales dropped one position down on #3 (-27%); total sales 25,910. The song holds #6 in Airplay and dropped down from #12 to #15 on Hot R&B Song. And what about streaming? Obsessed dropped one position down on #4. I Want To Know What Love Is dropped down from the #66 debut to #75 and also dropped 43% down in Digital Sales on #95 (15,437); total download 42,638. The single improved the airplay - from #120 to #89 and also R&B - from #47 to #40.

Current (30.9.) world sales on iTunes: #5 - USA, #3 - France, #4 - Japan and Spain, #6 - Sweden, #8 - Canada, #9 - Switzerland.

HitsDailyDouble published the first estimates of the sale - their presumptions are about 160-170. But the Paramore group probably will have 180, so MC won't have a number one. But if she get it, it will be her seventh #1 album (B. Streissand has the most - 8). The TV shows Today and View on Friday could MC help, so let's hope.
