Precious has taken top honors at the Toronto International Film Festival, becoming the first film in history to win audience awards at both Toronto and Sundance. The second place belongs to Mao's Last Dancer directed by Bruce Beresford and the third one to Micmacs directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Lee Daniels was not able to attend the ceremony, but sent his regards. "I wish I could be there to accept this award on behalf of the film, but I just landed in San Sebastian, Spain, and I'm on my way to the film's premiere here in just a few hours," Daniels said in his absence: "Though I cannot begin to express my gratitude, as the audience award holds such a special meaning. I made this film for every person out there who ever looked in the mirror, and felt unsure about the person looking back at them. This is not an art film for a select few. This is a movie for everyone that can relate to. This film is for all precious girls, and for everyone who has a little precious on the inside." Precious, which stars Gabourey Sidibe, Mo'Nique, Paula Patton and Mariah Carey, was a big hit in Toronto. It will next screen at the upcoming New York Film Festival before opening in theaters this November, and its Toronto win only further cements its status as force to be reckoned with come Oscar season. Previous winners of Toronto's top honor include American Beauty, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hotel Rwanda and last year's Slumdog Millionaire.

Obsessed became the 15th number one in the Billboard Dance/Club Play Song chart! Previous number #1s were I Stay In Love and number one hit Touch My Body. Another #1s on the dance chart: Someday, Emotions, Dreamlover, Anytime You Need A Friend, Fantasy, Honey, I Still Believe, Through The Rain, It's Like That, We Belong Together, Don't Forget About Us and Say Somethin'.

The director of the music video for I Want To Know What Love Is is Harold "Hype" Williams. He worked wih MC on the Sweetheart video eleven years ago. Williams most famous videos are: Check On It - Beyonce, Gold Digger - Kanye West, So Sick - Ne-Yo, I Believe I Can Fly - R. Kelly and several commercials for Toyota, the Gap, Dolce & Gabbana, Nike, Reebok, Revlon and MasterCard.

I Want To Know What Love debuted on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart on #64. Foreigner's original version of the ballad reached No. 85 on the chart, and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1985.

MC will support new album by the promo tour. Non-confirmed dates: October 11 - 18 in Korea and Japan and October 14 - press conference, photo call and interviews with media representatives from all parts of Asia; November 10 - 19 promo in Europe.

Mariah has started filming the I Want To Know What Love Is music video yesterday and the premiere should probably hold next week.

Yahoo! Japan and Shinsiedo have updated their Memoirs listings with a new release date of Wednesday, October 7.

B2S Stores in Thailand will offer CD with gifts with purchase that include Memoirs bags, posters and notepads, while supplies last.

The Japanese release will have the same track listing as the US and reportedly will not include any bonus tracks this time around.

The special countries' editions will be released in few days after release of the standard and deluxe versions.

The Memoirs album is pushed back in several countries: Japan October 3rd and no bonus track for now, Germany October 2nd and UK October 4rd (independents)/5th (national retailers). Other release dates still remain.

The single holds from the second position on Hot Singles Sales (Walmart). The sales dropped 35% down (1,955); total sales - 23,213. The song moved up one position to #6 on Airplay. Obsessed moved 2 positions up on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Airplay on #12 and v from #3 to #2 on Dance/Club Play Songs.

The Emotions album celebrates the 18th anniversary today. The second album called Emotions named after the first single was released on September 17, 1991. This was the time of ongoing celebrations of debut album success. MC wrote all the songs and also co-produced all of them. The first single Emotions became her fifth #1 single. She introduced the single on MTV Awards viewer and had a notable success with hew whole voice range including the highest notes. For the first time, she worked with David Cole and Robert Clivillés (Emotions, Make It Happen, You're So Cold, To Be Around You). Also MC wrote her first songs with Walter Afanasieff (And You Don't Remember, Can't Let Go, Till the End of Time; only co-produced: The Wind, If It's Over, So Blessed).
